Context of Psalms 106:6
4Remember me, Lord, when you show favor to your people. Come to me with your salvation 5so that I may enjoy the prosperity of your chosen ones, rejoice in the joy of your nation, and boast about your heritage. Both we and our ancestors have sinned; we have done wrong and have acted wickedly. 7Our ancestors in Egypt did not grasp the significance of your wondrous works or remember your many acts of faithful love; instead, they rebelled by the sea — the Red Sea. 8Yet he saved them for his name’s sake, to make his power known.

- Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 6We have sinned with our fathers - We have sinned as “they” did; we have followed their example. The illustration of the manner in which the nation had sinned occupies a considerable part of the remainder of the psalm; and the idea here is, that, in the generation in which the psalmist lived, there had been the manifestation of the same rebellious spirit which had so remarkably characterized the entire nation.
