Context of Isaiah 6:2
1In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord seated on a high and lofty throne, and the hem of his robe filled the temple. Seraphim were standing above him; they each had six wings: with two they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they flew. 3And one called to another: Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of Armies; his glory fills the whole earth. 4The foundations of the doorways shook at the sound of their voices, and the temple was filled with smoke.

- Tyndale Open Study Notes · v. 2The mighty seraphim are heavenly beings not mentioned elsewhere in Scripture (though similar living creatures appear in Revelation 4:6–9; 15:8). The Hebrew term seraphim may be related to a word that means “to burn.” This suggests an association with fire. Their name may point to their shining or fiery nature.
