Context of Exodus 10:28
26Even our livestock must go with us; not a hoof will be left behind because we will take some of them to worship the Lord our God. We will not know what we will use to worship the Lord until we get there.” 27But the Lord hardened Pharaoh’s heart, and he was unwilling to let them go. Pharaoh said to him, “Leave me! Make sure you never see my face again, for on the day you see my face, you will die.” 29“As you have said,” Moses replied, “I will never see your face again.”

- Matthew Henry Concise Commentary · v. 21-29Verses 21-29 The plague of darkness brought upon Egypt was a dreadful plague. It was darkness which might be felt, so thick were the fogs. It astonished and terrified. It continued three days; six nights in one; so long the most lightsome palaces were dungeons. Now Pharaoh had time to consider, if he would have improved it. Spiritual darkness is spiritual bondage; while Satan blinds men's eyes that they see not, he binds their hands and feet, that they…Read the comment
- Tyndale Open Study Notes · v. 27-29Pharaoh seemed to understand that he had reached a point of no return. The plagues had shown him the power of the Lord. The only proper response was to submit. Instead, he chose another path. If he would not submit, then he would try to silence the messenger. So he decided to threaten Moses rather than obey God. This pattern appears again later in Scripture. During the life and ministry of Jesus, some religious leaders refused to accept what his works…Read the comment
