Context of Psalms 105:29
27They performed His miraculous signs among them, and wonders in the land of Ham. 28He sent darkness, and it became dark— yet they defied His words. He turned their waters to blood and caused their fish to die. 30Their land teemed with frogs, even in their royal chambers. 31He spoke, and insects swarmed— gnats throughout their country.

This is mostly a mere enumeration of the plagues in the order in which they occurred, but without, of course, the details of the circumstances attending them. There are no circumstances mentioned here which require particular explanation.Read the comment
- Matthew Henry Concise Commentary · v. 24-45Verses 24-45 As the believer commonly thrives best in his soul when under the cross; so the church also flourishes most in true holiness, and increases in number, while under persecution. The ninth plague is made prominent as peculiarly wonderful. they rebelled not--Moses and Aaron promptly obeyed God (He 11:27); (compare Ex 7:1-11:10 and Psa 78:44-51, with which this summary substantially agrees). Hence, it is placed…Read the comment
