Context of 1 Corinthians 11:34
32But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we may not be condemned with the world. 33Wherefore, my brethren, when ye come together to eat, wait one for another. If any man is hungry, let him eat at home; that your coming together be not unto judgment. And the rest will I set in order whensoever I come.

- Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 34And if any man hunger - The Lord‘s Supper is not a common feast; it is not designed as a place where a man may gratify his appetite. - Matthew Henry Concise Commentary · v. 23-34Verses 23-34 The apostle describes the sacred ordinance, of which he had the knowledge by revelation from Christ. As to the visible signs, these are the bread and wine.
