Context of Song of Songs 2:10
8The voice of my lover! Behold, he is coming— leaping over the mountains, springing over the hills! 9My lover is like a gazelle or a young buck among the stags. Look! He is standing behind our wall— gazing through the windows, peering through the lattice. In response my lover said to me: “Get yourself up, my darling, my pretty one, and come, come! 11For behold, the winter has past, the rain is over, it has gone. 12Blossoms appear in the land, the time of singing has come, and the voice of the turtle-dove is heard in our land.

The woman compares the man to a gazelle, a fast and graceful animal that easily overcomes obstacles to reach its goal.Read the comment
- Jamieson–Fausset–Brown Commentary · v. 10-1110-11. Loving reassurance given by Jesus Christ to the bride, lest she should think that He had ceased to love her, on account of her unfaithfulness, which had occasioned His temporary withdrawal. He allures her to brighter than worldly joys (Mi 2:10). Not only does the saint wish to depart to be with Him, but He still more desires to have the saint with Him above (Joh 17:24). Historically, the vineyard or garden of the King, here first introduced, is…Read the comment
