Genesis 4:9-12

Then Adonai said to Cain, “Where is Abel, your brother?” “I don’t know,” he said. “Am I my brother’s keeper?”

Then He said, “What have you done? The voice of your brother’s blood is crying out to Me from the ground.

So now, cursed are you from the ground which opened its mouth to receive your brother’s blood from your hand.

As often as you work the ground, it will not yield its crops to you again. You will be a restless wanderer on the earth.”
