Context of Ezekiel 41:8
6There were 33 side chambers. There were supports in the wall, which belonged to the House for the side chambers all around, so that they were not supported by the wall of the House. 7The side chambers were wider as they wound about higher and higher. Because the winding about of the House went higher and higher round about the house, therefore the width of the House expanded. One went up from the lowest row to the highest by way of the middle. I saw also that the House had a raised platform all around; the foundations of the side chambers were a full rod of six cubits up to the joint. 9The thickness of the outer wall of the side chambers was five cubits. The space between the side chambers of the House 10and the outer chambers was 20 cubits wide all around the House on every side.

Commentaries on Ezekiel 41:8
- Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 8The foundations of the side chambers - Therefore the height of the side-chambers from the floor was six cubits there being three stories, which corresponds sufficiently with the twenty cubits which was the height of the temple. “A great cubit” is probably an architectural term to denote the line of junction between two stories, which would be that of the ceiling of the lower and the floor of the upper story.Read the comment
- Tyndale Open Study Notes · v. 5-26The temple had 90 side rooms on three levels. Behind it was a large building with an unknown purpose, possibly to prevent unauthorized access. No one could approach God's presence from behind. The side rooms might have stored priestly clothing and equipment.Read the comment
