Ezekiel 17:12-21
12SayH559 now to the rebelliousH4805 houseH1004, KnowH3045 ye not what these things mean ? tellH559 them, Behold, the kingH4428 of BabylonH894 hath comeH935 to JerusalemH3389, and hath takenH3947 its kingH4428, and its princesH8269, and ledH935 them with him to BabylonH894; 13And hath takenH3947 of the king’sH4410 seedH2233, and madeH3772 a covenantH1285 with him, and hath takenH935 an oathH423 from him: he hath also takenH3947 the mightyH352 of the landH776:1 14That the kingdomH4467 might be baseH8217, that it might not lift itself upH5375, but that by keepingH8104 his covenantH1285 it might standH5975.2 15But he rebelledH4775 against him in sendingH7971 his ambassadorsH4397 into EgyptH4714, that they might giveH5414 him horsesH5483 and manyH7227 peopleH5971. Shall he prosperH6743? shall he escapeH4422 that doethH6213 such things ? or shall he breakH6565 the covenantH1285, and be deliveredH4422? 16As I liveH2416, saithH5002 the LordH136 GODH3069, surely in the placeH4725 where the kingH4428 dwelleth that made him kingH4427, whose oathH423 he despisedH959, and whose covenantH1285 he brokeH6565, even with him in the midstH8432 of BabylonH894 he shall dieH4191. 17Neither shall PharaohH6547 with his mightyH1419 armyH2428 and greatH7227 companyH6951 helpH6213 him in the warH4421, by casting upH8210 siege moundsH5550, and buildingH1129 fortsH1785, to cut offH3772 manyH7227 personsH5315: 18Seeing he despisedH959 the oathH423 by breakingH6565 the covenantH1285, when, lo, he had givenH5414 his handH3027, and hath doneH6213 all these things, he shall not escapeH4422. 19Therefore thus saithH559 the LordH136 GODH3069; As I liveH2416, surely my oathH423 that he hath despisedH959, and my covenantH1285 that he hath brokenH6331, even that will I recompenseH5414 upon his own headH7218. 20And I will spreadH6566 my netH7568 upon him, and he shall be takenH8610 in my snareH4686, and I will bringH935 him to BabylonH894, and will enter into judgmentH8199 with him there for his trespassH4603 that he hath trespassedH4604 against me. 21And all his fugitivesH4015 with all his bandsH102 shall fallH5307 by the swordH2719, and they that remainH7604 shall be scatteredH6566 toward all windsH7307: and ye shall knowH3045 that I the LORDH3068 have spokenH1696 it .
