2 Samuel 19:17-24
17And there were a thousandH505 menH376 of BenjaminH1145 with him, and ZibaH6717 the servantH5288 of the houseH1004 of SaulH7586, and his fifteenH2568H6240 sonsH1121 and his twentyH6242 servantsH5650 with him; and they went overH6743 JordanH3383 beforeH6440 the kingH4428. 18And there went overH5674 a ferry boatH5679 to carry overH5674 the king’sH4428 householdH1004, and to doH6213 what he thoughtH5869 goodH2896. And ShimeiH8096 the sonH1121 of GeraH1617 fell downH5307 beforeH6440 the kingH4428, as he came overH5674 JordanH3383;1 19And saidH559 to the kingH4428, Let not my lordH113 imputeH2803 iniquityH5771 to me, neither do thou rememberH2142 that which thy servantH5650 did perverselyH5753 the dayH3117 that my lordH113 the kingH4428 went outH3318 of JerusalemH3389, that the kingH4428 should takeH7760 it to his heartH3820. 20For thy servantH5650 doth knowH3045 that I have sinnedH2398: therefore, behold, I have comeH935 the firstH7223 this dayH3117 of all the houseH1004 of JosephH3130 to go downH3381 to meetH7125 my lordH113 the kingH4428. 21But AbishaiH52 the sonH1121 of ZeruiahH6870 answeredH6030 and saidH559, Shall not ShimeiH8096 be put to deathH4191 for this, because he cursedH7043 the LORD’SH3068 anointedH4899? 22And DavidH1732 saidH559, What have I to do with you, ye sonsH1121 of ZeruiahH6870, that ye should this dayH3117 be adversariesH7854 to me? shall there any manH376 be put to deathH4191 this dayH3117 in IsraelH3478? for do not I knowH3045 that I am this dayH3117 kingH4428 over IsraelH3478? 23Therefore the kingH4428 saidH559 to ShimeiH8096, Thou shalt not dieH4191. And the kingH4428 sworeH7650 to him.
24And MephiboshethH4648 the sonH1121 of SaulH7586 came downH3381 to meetH7125 the kingH4428, and had neitherH3808 cared forH6213 his feetH7272, nor trimmedH6213 his beardH8222, nor washedH3526 his clothesH899, from the dayH3117 the kingH4428 departedH3212 until the dayH3117 he cameH935 again in peaceH7965.
