Context of Leviticus 15:4
2Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them, When any man hath a running issue out of his flesh, because of his issue he is unclean. 3And this shall be his uncleanness in his issue: whether his flesh shall run with his issue, or his flesh be stopped from his issue, it is his uncleanness. Every bed, on which he lieth that hath the issue, is unclean: and every thing, on which he sitteth, shall be unclean. 5And whoever toucheth his bed shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the evening. 6And he that sitteth on any thing on which he sat that hath the issue shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the evening.

Whether male (15:1–18) or female (15:19–33), such a person became unclean.Read the comment

When any man hath a running issue--This chapter describes other forms of uncleanness, the nature of which is sufficiently intelligible in the text without any explanatory comment.
