Context of Job 30:6
4They pluck salt-wort by the bushes; and the roots of the broom are their meat. 5They are driven forth from the midst of men; they cry after them as after a thief. In the clefts of the valleys must they dwell, in holes of the earth and of the rocks. 7Among the bushes they bray; under the nettles they are gathered together. 8They are children of fools, yea, children of base men; they were scourged out of the land.

- Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 6To dwell in the cliffs of the valleys - The word here rendered “cliffs” (ערוץ ‛ârûts ) denotes rather “horror,” or something “horrid,” and the sense here is, that they dwelt in “the horrer of valleys;” that is, in horrid valleys.
