Context of 2 Kings 18:5
3He did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, just as his father David had done. 4He removed the high places, smashed the sacred stones and cut down the Asherah poles. He broke into pieces the bronze snake Moses had made, for up to that time the Israelites had been burning incense to it. (It was called Nehushtan.) Hezekiah trusted in the Lord, the God of Israel. There was no one like him among all the kings of Judah, either before him or after him. 6He held fast to the Lord and did not stop following him; he kept the commands the Lord had given Moses. 7And the Lord was with him; he was successful in whatever he undertook. He rebelled against the king of Assyria and did not serve him.

- Adam Clarke Bible Commentary · v. 5He trusted in the Lord - See the character of this good king: He trusted in the Lord God of Israel; He clave to the Lord; He was steady in his religion; he departed not from following the Lord; He kept God's commandments. And what were the consequences? 1. The Lord was with him; 2. He prospered whithersoever he went.Read the comment
- Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 5After him was none like him - The same is said of Josiah (marginal reference). The phrase was probably proverbial, and was not taken to mean more than we mean when we say that such and such a king was one of singular piety.Read the comment

In the petty kingdom of Judah, Josiah alone had a similar testimony borne to him (2Ki 23:25). But even he was surpassed by…Read the comment
