Context of Joshua 5:10
8When all the men had been circumcised, they stayed there in the camp until they had healed. 9The Lord said to Joshua, “Today I have taken away the disgrace of Egypt from you.” So that place is called Gilgal even to this day. So the Israelites camped in Gilgal and celebrated the Passover in the evening of the fourteenth day of the month on the plains of Jericho. 11They ate some of the produce of the land the day after the Passover, including unleavened bread and roasted grain. 12The manna stopped appearing the day they ate some of the produce of the land; the Israelites never ate manna again.

- Matthew Henry Concise Commentary · v. 10-12Verses 10-12 A solemn passover was kept, at the time appointed by the law, in the plains of Jericho, in defiance of the Canaanites round about them. It was a performance of the promise, that when they went up to keep the feasts, their land should be under the special protection of the Divine providence, Ex 34:24. Notice is taken of the ceasing of the manna as soon as they had eaten the old corn of the land. For as it came just when they needed, so it…Read the comment
- Tyndale Open Study Notes · v. 10The Israelites killed the Passover lamb on the evening of the fourteenth day of the first month. Just as the Passover in Egypt marked the exodus from slavery, the celebration of this Passover in Canaan marked the attainment of the goal God had been leading the Israelites toward. This Passover also anticipated God's promised rest for his people in their new land. This was apparently the first Passover feast Israel celebrated since camping at Mount Sinai…Read the comment
