Context of Zechariah 10:9
7The people of Ephraim will be like mighty warriors. Their hearts will be glad as if they had some wine ⌞to drink⌟. Their sons will see it and be glad. Their hearts will find joy in the Lord. 8I will signal them with a whistle and gather them because I have reclaimed them. They will be as numerous as they have ever been. Although I have scattered them among the nations, they will remember me even in faraway places. They will live with their children and then return. 10I will bring them back from Egypt. I will gather them from Assyria. I will bring them to Gilead and to Lebanon, and there won’t be enough room for them.” 11The Lord will pass through a sea of distress, strike the waves in the sea, and dry up all the deep places of the Nile River. The pride of Assyria will be humiliated, and the scepter of Egypt will depart.

- Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 9And I will sow them among the nations - Such had been the prophecy of Hosea; “I will sow her unto Me in the earth,” as the prelude of spiritual mercies, “and I will have mercy on her that had not obtained mercy, and I will say to not-my-people, Thou art My people, and they shall say, my God”. - Matthew Henry Concise Commentary · v. 6-12Verses 6-12 Here are precious promises to the people of God, which look to the state of the Jews, and even to the latter days of the church. Difficulties shall be got over easily, and effectually, as those in the way of the deliverance out of Egypt. God himself will be their strength, and their song. When we resist…Read the comment

The slight hold they have on every soil where they now live, as also the commercial and therefore cosmopolitan character of their pursuits, making a change of residence easy to them, fit them peculiarly for missionary work [Moore]. The wide…Read the comment
