Context of Psalms 109:27
25I have become the victim of my enemies’ insults. They look at me and shake their heads. 26Help me, O Lord my God. Save me because of your mercy. Then they will know that this is your doing, that you, O Lord, are the one who saved me. 28They may curse, but you will bless. Let those who attack me be ashamed, but let me rejoice. 29Let those who accuse me wear disgrace as though it were clothing. Let them be wrapped in their shame as though it were a robe.

- Adam Clarke Bible Commentary · v. 27That they may know that this is thy hand - Let thy help be so manifest in my behalf, that they may see it is thy hand, and that thou hast undertaken for me. Or, if the words refer to the passion of our Lord, Let them see that I suffer not on my own account; "for the transgression of my people am I smitten."Read the comment
- Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 27That they may know that this is thy hand - That this has been done by thee; that it has all occurred under thy direction, or has been ordered by thee. The reference seems to be particularly to God‘s interposition: “Let it be manifest to all that thou hast interposed in my behalf; that thou hast undertaken for me; that thou art my Friend.” He desired an interposition from God that he might be vindicated before all his enemies. That thou, Lord, hast done it…Read the comment
- Matthew Henry Concise Commentary · v. 21-31Verses 21-31 The psalmist takes God's comforts to himself, but in a very humble manner. He was troubled in mind. His body was wasted, and almost worn away. But it is better to have leanness in the body, while the soul prospers and is in health, than to have leanness in the soul, while the body is feasted. He was ridiculed and reproached by his enemies. But if God bless us, we need not care who curses us; for how can they curse whom God has not cursed…Read the comment
