Context of Job 20:8
6If his height reaches to the sky and his head touches the clouds, 7he will certainly rot like his own feces. Those who have seen him will say, ‘Where is he?’ He will fly away like a dream and not be found. He will be chased away like a vision in the night. 9Eyes that saw him will see him no more. His home will not look at him again. 10His children will have to ask the poor for help. His own hands will have to give back his wealth.

- Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 8He shall fly away as a dream - As a dream wholly disappears or vanishes. This comparison of man with a dream is not uncommon, and is most impressive. See Psalm 73:20; see the notes at Isaiah 29:7-8. As a vision of the night - As when one in a dream seems to see objects which vanish when he awakes.
