The people in Heshbon will plan Moab’s destruction. “Let’s destroy that nation!” You will be silenced, city of Madmen. Death will come after you. 3People will cry out from Horonaim, “Looting and great destruction!” 4Moab will be broken. Its little ones will cry out.

- Adam Clarke Bible Commentary · v. 2No more praise of Moab - "The glory of Moab, that it had never been conquered," (Dahler), is now at an end. Dr. Blayney translates: - "Moab shall have no more glorying in Heshbon; They have devised evil against her (saying.)" And this most certainly is the best translation of the original.
