Context of 1 Chronicles 2:21
19After Azubah died, Caleb married Ephrath. She gave birth to Hur. 20Hur was the father of Uri, and Uri was the father of Bezalel. Afterwards, Hezron slept with the daughter of Machir, the man who first settled Gilead. Hezron had married her when he was 60 years old. She gave birth to Segub. 22Segub was the father of Jair, who had 23 towns in Gilead. 23Geshur and Aram captured Havvoth Jair with Kenath and its villages (60 cities in all). All of these people were descendants of Machir, the man who first settled Gilead.
