Context of Psalms 85:8
6Please turn back to us and give us new life! Then your people will be happy and they will praise you. 7Lord, show us again your faithful love! Please rescue us! Now I will listen to what the Lord God says. He will give peace to his people, to those who serve him. But they must not turn back to do foolish things again. 9Yes, God will soon rescue his people who serve him. Then we will see his glory again in our land. 10God will be faithful to us and he will love us with his faithful love. His justice and his peace will join together, like dear friends.

- Adam Clarke Bible Commentary · v. 8I will hear what God the Lord will speak - The psalmist goes as a prophet to consult the Lord; and, having made his request, waits an answer from the spirit of prophecy. He is satisfied that the answer will be gracious; and having received it he relates it to the people. He will speak peace - He will give prosperity to the people in general; and to his saints - his followers, in particular. But let them not turn again to folly - Let them not abuse the…Read the comment
- Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 8I will hear what God the Lord will speak - I, the psalmist; I, representing the people as looking to God. The state of mind here is that of patient listening; of a willingness to hear God, whatever God should say; of confidence in him that what he would say would be favorable to his people - would be words of mercy and of peace. Whatever God should command, the speaker was willing to yield to it; whatever God should say, he would believe; whatever God…Read the comment

Also, his honour is secured, that glory may dwell in our land. And the…Read the comment
