Context of Numbers 7:14
12On the first day, Nahshon, the son of Amminadab from the tribe of Judah brought his gift. 13He brought a plate and a bowl that someone had made from silver. The plate weighed 130 shekels. The bowl weighed 70 shekels. They had weighed the silver by the shekel of God's Holy Tent. Both of those were full of good flour that he had mixed with oil. They were for a grain offering. He brought one small dish that someone had made from gold. It weighed ten shekels and it was full of incense. 15He brought one young bull, one male sheep and one male lamb that was less than one year old. Those animals were for a burnt offering. 16He brought one male goat for a sin offering.

- Matthew Henry Concise Commentary · v. 10-89Verses 10-89 The princes and great men were most forward in the service of God. Here is an example to those in authority, and of the highest rank; they ought to use their honour and power, their estate and interest, to promote religion and the service of God in the places where they live. Though it was a time of joy and rejoicing, yet still, in the midst of their sacrifices, we find a sin-offering. As, in our best services, we are conscious that there is…Read the comment
