Context of Numbers 28:19
17Day 15 is the start of a week when you must eat the flat bread. You must not put any yeast in the bread. You must do that for seven days. 18The first day will be a holy day and all the people must meet together. You must not work at your jobs on that day. And you must give an offering by fire, a burnt offering to the Lord. The offering must be two young bulls, one male sheep and seven male lambs that are one year old. But these animals must not have anything wrong with them. 20Offer the proper grain offering with each animal. Mix together 3 kilograms of the best flour and olive oil. Offer it to me with each bull. With the male sheep, offer 2 kilograms of the best flour with oil. 21With each of the seven lambs, you must offer one kilogram of flour that you have mixed with oil.

- Matthew Henry Concise Commentary · v. 16-31Verses 16-31 By the sacrifices enjoined in this chapter, we are reminded of the continued power of the sacrifice of Christ, and of our continual need to depend thereon. No hurrying employments, or perilous situations, or prosperous circumstances, should cause slackness in our religious exercises; but should rather stir us up to greater diligence in seeking help from, or giving thanks to the Lord. And all is to be accompanied with repentance, faith is the…Read the comment
- Tyndale Open Study Notes · v. 16-25The Passover, followed by the Feast of Unleavened Bread, was the first of five major annual feasts. It took place in early spring (March or April). The Passover did not require public sacrifices. It was a family event celebrated at home (see also 9:1–4; Exodus 12:1–13:10; Leviticus 23:5–8; Deuteronomy 16:1–8). This festival is important in the background of the Last Supper (see Matthew 26:17–19, 26–27; Mark 14:12; John 11:55; 12:1; 13:1; 18:28, 39; 19:14…Read the comment
