• King James Version (KJV)But if the scall be in his sight at a stay, and that there is black hair grown up therein; the scall is healed, he is clean: and the priest shall pronounce him clean.
• New International Version (NIV)If, however, the sore is unchanged so far as the priest can see, and if black hair has grown in it, the affected person is healed. They are clean, and the priest shall pronounce them clean.
• English Standard Version (ESV)But if in his eyes the itch is unchanged and black hair has grown in it, the itch is healed and he is clean, and the priest shall pronounce him clean.
• New King James Version (NKJV)But if the scale appears to be at a standstill, and there is black hair grown up in it, the scale has healed. He is clean, and the priest shall pronounce him clean.

Context of Leviticus 13:37

35The mark might get bigger after the priest has said that the disease has left the person. 36The priest must look at the mark. If it is bigger, he need not look for yellow hair. The person is not clean. The mark may be no bigger and black hair may have grown on it. If that is true, the disease has left the person. 38If a person has white marks on his skin, 39the priest must look at the marks. If the colour of the marks is not bright, it is not a disease. The person is clean.
