Context of Job 27:3
1Job continued to speak. This is what he said: 2‘Almighty God has not been fair to me. He has caused my life to be very sad. As surely as he lives, I promise this: As long as God's Spirit gives me life, 4I will never speak any lies. I will always be honest. 5I will never agree that you, my three friends, are right. Until the day of my death, I will continue to say what I know is right.

Indeed נשמתי nishmathi may be rendered my mind or understanding, and אלוה רוח ruach Eloah, the breath of God, the principle of animal…Read the comment
- Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 3And the spirit of God is in my nostrils - As long as I live. The “spirit of God” here means the breath that God breathed into man when he created him, Genesis 2:7. It would seem probable that there was an allusion to that fact by the language here, and that the knowledge of the way in which man was created was thus handed down by tradition.Read the comment
