Context of Exodus 29:35
33That meat was part of the sacrifice which made them clean from their sins. It made them God's special servants as his priests. No other person may eat those things, because they are holy. 34But if any of the meat from the offerings remains until the morning, you must burn it. Also burn any bread that remains. You must not eat it, because it is holy. Do everything that I have commanded you, to make Aaron and his sons my special servants. Take seven days to do this. 36Kill a bull each day, as a sacrifice that makes people clean from their sins. Also make the altar clean and pure. Pour oil over it to make it holy for me. 37Do this to the altar for seven days to make it pure. Then it will be completely holy. Anything that touches the altar will become holy too.

- Tyndale Open Study Notes · v. 1-37Moses had to consecrate (or sanctify) Aaron and his sons to serve the Lord. The focus on making the priests holy appears throughout the ceremonies (29:6, 21, 28, 29, 34, 36, 37). God set them apart not only for service. But he set them apart to serve a God whose nature is very different from that of sinful humans. Leviticus 8 gives the account of how they followed these instructions.Read the comment
- Jamieson–Fausset–Brown Commentary · v. 3535. seven days shalt thou consecrate them--The renewal of these ceremonies on the return of every day in the seven, with the intervention of a Sabbath, was a wise preparatory arrangement, in order to afford a sufficient interval for calm and devout reflection (He 9:1; 10:1).
