Ephesians 4:5 in other versions
Context of Ephesians 4:5
3Do your best to let God's Spirit keep you united. You belong together so live in peace with each other. 4As God's people, you are like one body. There is one Spirit that gives you life. God has chosen you to be his own people. So you all expect to receive the same great things from God. There is one Lord. There is one true message that we must believe. There is one baptism. 6There is one God, who is the Father of all of us. He has authority over all of us. He works through all of us. He is in all of us. 7But God has been kind to all of us. Each of us has received a special gift, just as Christ has decided to give us.

- Adam Clarke Bible Commentary · v. 5One Lord - Jesus Christ, who is the governor of this Church. One faith - One system of religion, proposing the same objects to the faith of all. One baptism - Administered in the name of the holy Trinity; indicative of the influences, privileges, and effects of the Christian religion.Read the comment
- Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 5One Lord - This evidently refers to the Lord Jesus. The “Spirit” is mentioned in the previous verse; the Father in the verse following. On the application of the word “Lord” to the Saviour, see the notes on Acts 1:24. The argument here is, that there ought to be unity among Christians, because they have one Lord and Saviour. They have not different Saviours adapted to different classes; not one for the Jew and another for the Greek; not one for the rich…Read the comment
