Context of 2 Samuel 13:26
24Then he went to the king and he said, ‘My men have started to cut the wool from my sheep. Please will your and your officers come and join us at this happy time?’ 25King David replied to Absalom, ‘No, my son, we should not all go. It would cause you too much trouble.’ Absalom asked him again, but the king still refused to go. Instead, he asked God to bless Absalom. So Absalom said, ‘If you will not come with me, please let my brother Amnon come.’ The king said, ‘Why do you want him to go with you?’ 27But Absalom asked the king more strongly. So the king agreed to send Amnon and all his other sons. 28Absalom then told his servants, ‘When Amnon has drunk a lot of wine I will tell you, “Knock him down!” Then you must kill him immediately. Do not be afraid. I am the one who is commanding you to do this. So be strong and brave.’

- Adam Clarke Bible Commentary · v. 26Let my brother Amnon go - He urged this with the more plausibility, because Amnon was the first-born, and presumptive heir to the kingdom; and he had disguised his resentment so well before, that he was not suspected.Read the comment
- Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 26He mentions Amnon as being the king‘s first-born. If he could not have the king‘s company, let him at least have that of the heir apparent, and the king‘s other sons.Read the comment
- Matthew Henry Concise Commentary · v. 21-29Verses 21-29 Observe the aggravations of Absalom's sin: he would have Ammon slain, when least fit to go out of the world. He engaged his servants in the guilt. Those servants are ill-taught who obey wicked masters, against God's commands. Indulged children always prove crosses to godly parents, whose foolish love leads them to neglect their duty to God.Read the comment

Absalom proposed to give such an entertainment at his estate in Baal-hazor, about eight miles northeast of Jerusalem near a town called Ephraim (Jos 11:10). He first invited the king and his court; but the king declining, on account of the heavy expense to which the reception of royalty would subject him [2Sa 13:25], Absalom…Read the comment
