Context of 2 Kings 14:20
18The rest of the events of Amaziah’s reign are written in the Historical Record of Judah’s Kings. 19A conspiracy was formed against him in Jerusalem, and he fled to Lachish. However, men were sent after him to Lachish, and they put him to death there. They carried him back on horses, and he was buried in Jerusalem with his ancestors in the city of David. 21Then all the people of Judah took Azariah, who was sixteen years old, and made him king in place of his father Amaziah. 22After Amaziah the king rested with his ancestors, Azariah rebuilt Elath and restored it to Judah.

- Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 20They brought him on horses - i. e. they conveyed his body back to Jerusalem in the royal chariot. Azariah, or Uzziah, seems to have been very young when his father was slain. Though the years of his reign are reckoned from that event, he was not fully made king till eleven years afterwards.Read the comment
