Context of Job 30:12
10They abhor me, they stand aloof from me, And spare not to spit in my face. 11For he hath loosed his cord, and afflicted me; And they have cast off the bridle before me. Upon my right hand rise the rabble; They thrust aside my feet, And they cast up against me their ways of destruction. 13They mar my path, They set forward my calamity, Even men that have no helper. 14As through a wide breach they come: In the midst of the ruin they roll themselves upon me.

- Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 12Upon my right hand rise the youth - The right hand is the place of honor, and therefore it was felt to be a greater insult that they should occupy even that place. The word rendered “youth” (פרחח pirchach ) occurs nowhere else in the Hebrew Scriptures. It is probably from פרח pârach “to sprout, germinate, blossom”; and hence, would mean “a progeny,” and would be probably applied to beasts. It is rendered by Jerome, “calamities;” by the Septuagint, “Upon…Read the comment

The word translated as snares might refer to ramps raised against a city's walls. A siege ramp was a large sloped structure of earth and stones that armies built against city walls. These ramps allowed attacking soldiers to climb up to the top of the walls during a battle.Read the comment
