Context of 2 Samuel 13:15
13As for me, how could I get rid of my shame and disgrace? And you, you will be considered one of the fools in Israel. So now, just speak to the king [about taking me as your wife], for he will not withhold me from you.” 14But he would not listen to her; and since he was stronger than she, he violated her and lay with her. Then Amnon became extremely hateful toward her, for his hatred toward her was greater than the love which he had for her. And Amnon said to her, “Get up and get out!” 16But she said, “No, because this wrong of sending me away is worse than the other that you have done to me!” But he would not listen to her. 17Instead, he called his young man who was his personal servant and said, “Now throw this woman out of my presence and bolt the door behind her.”

- Tyndale Open Study Notes · v. 15The fact that Amnon’s feelings for Tamar quickly changed into hate shows that what he called “love” (2 Samuel 13:4) was actually selfish sexual desire, not genuine care for her.Read the comment
- Jamieson–Fausset–Brown Commentary · v. 1515. Then Amnon hated her exceedingly--It is not unusual for persons instigated by violent and irregular passions to go from one extreme to another. In Amnon's case the sudden revulsion is easily accounted for; the atrocity of his conduct, with all the feelings of shame, remorse, and dread of exposure and punishment, now burst upon his mind, rendering the presence of Tamar intolerably painful to him.Read the comment
