The place
Maareh-geba is mentioned in Judges 20:33 as a location near Gibeah where the Israelites set an ambush during their battle against the Benjamites. The verse states that the men of Israel rose from their place and set themselves in battle array at Baal-tamar, while the men in ambush rushed out of their place west of Maareh-geba.
