Context of Proverbs 21:4
2All a man’s ways seem right in his own eyes, but Adonai weighs the heart. 3To do righteousness and justice is more acceptable to Adonai than sacrifice. Haughty eyes and a proud heart— the lamp of the wicked is sin. 5Plans of the diligent surely lead to gain, but all who are hasty come only to loss. 6Getting treasures by a lying tongue is like a fleeting vapor for those who seek death.
