Context of Leviticus 15:27
25“Now if a woman has a discharge of her blood for many days not during her niddah or if she has a discharge beyond the time of her niddah all the days of the discharge of her uncleanness shall be as in the days of her niddah . She is unclean. 26Every bed where she lies all the days of her discharge will be like her bed during her niddah , and everything she sits on will become unclean like the uncleanness of her niddah . Whoever touches these things will become unclean and is to wash his clothes and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the evening. 28“But if she is cleansed of her discharge, then she is to count off seven days for herself, and after that she will be clean. 29On the eighth day she is to take two turtledoves or two young pigeons, and bring them to the kohen, at the entrance of the Tent of Meeting.

Commentaries on Leviticus 15:27
- Tyndale Open Study Notes · v. 25-29Normal menstruation did not require any offering from the woman (Leviticus 15:19–24). If a woman had a discharge of blood lasting more than seven days, she needed a cleansing ceremony. This was similar to the one for a man cleansed of a bodily discharge (15:13–15; see also Matthew 9:20–22).Read the comment
- Jamieson–Fausset–Brown Commentary · v. 19-3319. if a woman have an issue--Though this, like the leprosy, might be a natural affection, it was anciently considered contagious and entailed a ceremonial defilement which typified a moral impurity. This ceremonial defilement had to be removed by an appointed method of ceremonial expiation, and the neglect of it subjected any one to the guilt of defiling the tabernacle, and to death as the penalty of profane temerity.Read the comment
