Context of Genesis 24:57
55But Rebekah’s brother and her mother replied, “Let the girl stay with us a few more days, perhaps ten. Then she can go.” 56But he said to them, “Don’t detain me – the Lord has granted me success on my journey. Let me leave now so I may return to my master.” Then they said, “We’ll call the girl and find out what she wants to do.” 58So they called Rebekah and asked her, “Do you want to go with this man?” She replied, “I want to go.” 59So they sent their sister Rebekah on her way, accompanied by her female attendant, with Abraham’s servant and his men.

As children ought not to marry without their parents' consent, so parents ought not to marry them without their own. Rebekah consented, not only to go, but to go at once. The goodness of Rebekah's character shows there was nothing wrong in her answer, though it be not…Read the comment
- Tyndale Open Study Notes · v. 57-58Rebekah chose to leave at once to be with her new husband, which ended the disagreement. She accepted what seemed to be the Lord’s clear leading. In that culture, young women usually wanted to marry (not marrying brought great shame and hardship). Later stories about Laban help explain why Rebekah may have wanted to leave (compare 31:14–15). Rebekah showed faithful love to the servant, to Abraham’s family, and to Isaac by going to become his wife.Read the comment
