Context of Genesis 24:19
17Abraham’s servant ran to meet her and said, “Please give me a sip of water from your jug.” 18“Drink, my lord,” she replied, and quickly lowering her jug to her hands, she gave him a drink. When she had done so, she said, “I’ll draw water for your camels too, until they have drunk as much as they want.” 20She quickly emptied her jug into the watering trough and ran back to the well to draw more water until she had drawn enough for all his camels. 21Silently the man watched her with interest to determine if the Lord had made his journey successful or not.

- Adam Clarke Bible Commentary · v. 19I will draw water for thy camels also - Had Rebekah done no more than Eliezer had prayed for, we might have supposed that she acted not as a free agent, but was impelled to it by the absolutely controlling power of God; but as she exceeds all that was requested, we see that it sprang from her native benevolence, and sets her conduct in the most amiable point of view.Read the comment

- Matthew Henry Concise Commentary · v. 10-28Verses 10-28 Abraham's servant devoutly acknowledged God. We have leave to be particular in recommending our affairs to the care of Divine providence. He proposes a sign, not that he intended to proceed no further, if not gratified in it; but it is a prayer that God would provide a good wife for his young master; and that was a good prayer. She should be simple, industrious, humble, cheerful, serviceable, and hospitable. Whatever may be the fashion…Read the comment
