1 Kings 1:11-21

11Wherefore NathanH5416 spakeH559 unto Bath–shebaH1339 the motherH517 of SolomonH8010, sayingH559, Hast thou not heardH8085 that AdonijahH138 the sonH1121 of HaggithH2294 doth reignH4427, and DavidH1732 our lordH113 knowethH3045 it not? 12Now therefore comeH3212, let me, I pray thee, give thee counselH6098H3289, that thou mayest saveH4422 thine own lifeH5315, and the lifeH5315 of thy sonH1121 SolomonH8010. 13GoH3212 and get thee inH935 unto kingH4428 DavidH1732, and sayH559 unto him, Didst not thou, my lordH113, O kingH4428, swearH7650 unto thine handmaidH519, sayingH559, AssuredlyH3588 SolomonH8010 thy sonH1121 shall reignH4427 afterH310 me, and he shall sitH3427 upon my throneH3678? why then doth AdonijahH138 reignH4427? 14Behold, while thou yet talkestH1696 there with the kingH4428, I also will come inH935 afterH310 thee, and confirmH4390 thy wordsH1697.1

15And Bath–shebaH1339 went inH935 unto the kingH4428 into the chamberH2315: and the kingH4428 was veryH3966 oldH2204; and AbishagH49 the ShunammiteH7767 ministeredH8334 unto the kingH4428. 16And Bath–shebaH1339 bowedH6915, and did obeisanceH7812 unto the kingH4428. And the kingH4428 saidH559, What wouldest thou?2 17And she saidH559 unto him, My lordH113, thou swarestH7650 by the LordH3068 thy GodH430 unto thine handmaidH519, saying, Assuredly SolomonH8010 thy sonH1121 shall reignH4427 afterH310 me, and he shall sitH3427 upon my throneH3678. 18And now, behold, AdonijahH138 reignethH4427; and now, my lordH113 the kingH4428, thou knowestH3045 it not: 19And he hath slainH2076 oxenH7794 and fat cattleH4806 and sheepH6629 in abundanceH7230, and hath calledH7121 all the sonsH1121 of the kingH4428, and AbiatharH54 the priestH3548, and JoabH3097 the captainH8269 of the hostH6635: but SolomonH8010 thy servantH5650 hath he not calledH7121. 20And thou, my lordH113, O kingH4428, the eyesH5869 of all IsraelH3478 are upon thee, that thou shouldest tellH5046 them who shall sitH3427 on the throneH3678 of my lordH113 the kingH4428 afterH310 him. 21Otherwise it shall come to pass, when my lordH113 the kingH4428 shall sleepH7901 with his fathersH1, that I and my sonH1121 SolomonH8010 shall be counted offendersH2400.3
