Context of Leviticus 6:27
25‘Tell Aaron and his sons this rule. When a person does wrong things he must give an animal to the Lord. The animal will be holy. The person must kill the animal at the north side of the altar. That is where they kill the offerings for sin. 26The priest who offered it will eat his part of the gift in a holy place. That is the yard outside the Tent of Meeting. If anyone or anything touches the meat they will become holy. If the blood touches the clothes of a person, he must wash them in a holy place. 28If a person cooks the meat in a clay pot, he must break the pot. He must break it when he has cooked the meat. If a person cooks the meat in a metal pot, he must wash the pot. He must wash it well when he has cooked the meat. And he must wash it again with clean water. 29The meat is holy. Only the priests' sons can eat it.

Commentaries on Leviticus 6:27
- Adam Clarke Bible Commentary · v. 27Whatsoever shall touch the flesh thereof shall be holy - The following note of Mr. Ainsworth is not less judicious than it is pious: - "All this rite was peculiar to the sin-offering, (whether it were that which was to be eaten, or that which was to be burnt), above all the other most holy things. As the sin-offering in special sort figured Christ, who was made sin for us, ( 2 Corinthians 5:21;), so this ordinance for all that touched the flesh of the…Read the comment
- Matthew Henry Concise Commentary · v. 24-30Verses 24-30 The blood of the sin-offering was to be washed out of the clothes on which it should happen to be sprinkled, which signified the regard we ought to have to the blood of Christ, not counting it a common thing. The vessel in which the flesh of the sin-offering was boiled must be broken, if it were an earthen one; but if a brazen one, well washed. This showed that the defilement was not wholly taken away by the offering; but the blood of Christ…Read the comment
- Jamieson–Fausset–Brown Commentary · v. 21-3025-28. This is the law of the sin offering--It was slain, and the fat and inwards, after being washed and salted, were burnt upon the altar. But the rest of the carcass belonged to the officiating priest. He and his family might feast upon it--only, however, within the precincts of the tabernacle; and none else were allowed to partake of it but the members of a priestly family--and not even they, if under any ceremonial defilement. The flesh on all…Read the comment
