Context of 2 Samuel 6:2
1David chose 30,000 of the best soldiers in Israel. He took them with him to Baalah, a town in Judah. He wanted to bring God's Covenant Box from there to Jerusalem. The Israelites called it by the name of the Lord Almighty. He sits as King between the two cherubs that are on the top of the Covenant Box. 3They put the Covenant Box on a new cart. They took it out of Abinadab's house which was on the hill. Abinadab's sons, Uzzah and Ahio, were leading the new cart 4which had the Covenant Box on it. Ahio walked in front of the Covenant Box.

- Adam Clarke Bible Commentary · v. 2From Baale of Judah - This is supposed to be the same city which, in Joshua 15:60, is called Kirjah-baal or Kirjath-jearim; (see 1 Chronicles 13:6;); or Baalah, Joshua 15:9. Whose name is called by the name of the Lord - That is, The ark is called the ark of the Lord of hosts.
