Kings 19:4-10

And he himself went a day's journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a certain broom-bush, and requested for himself that he might die; and said, It is enough: now, Jehovah, take my life; for I am not better than my fathers.

And he lay down and slept under the broom-bush. And behold, an angel touched him, and said to him, Arise, eat!

And he looked, and behold, at his head was a cake, baked on hot stones, and a cruse of water. And he ate and drank, and lay down again.

And the angel of Jehovah came again the second time, and touched him, and said, Arise, eat; for the journey is too great for thee.

And he arose, and ate and drank, and went in the strength of that food forty days and forty nights to Horeb the mount of 1God.

And there he went into a cave, and lodged there. And behold, the word of Jehovah [came] to him, and he said to him, What doest thou here, Elijah?

And he said, I have been very jealous for Jehovah the 2God of hosts; for the children of Israel have forsaken thy covenant, thrown down thine altars, and slain thy prophets with the sword; and I am left, I alone, and they seek my life, to take it away.
