Context of Genesis 17:24
22When he finished talking with him, God withdrew from Abraham. 23So Abraham took his son Ishmael and those born in his household or purchased — every male among the members of Abraham’s household — and he circumcised the flesh of their foreskin on that very day, just as God had said to him. Abraham was ninety-nine years old when the flesh of his foreskin was circumcised, 25and his son Ishmael was thirteen years old when the flesh of his foreskin was circumcised. 26On that very day Abraham and his son Ishmael were circumcised.

- Matthew Henry Concise Commentary · v. 23-27Verses 23-27 Abraham and all his family were circumcised; so receiving the token of the covenant, and distinguishing themselves from other families that had no part nor lot in the matter. Sincere obedience makes no delay. Not only the doctrines of revelation, but the seals of God's…Read the comment
