Psalms 123:1-2

Looking to God for MercyThis psalm is a prayer of faith and hope in God, especially during times of trouble. The writer calls God the One who lives in heaven, reminding us that God is powerful and sees everything from above. When life is hard and people ask, "Where is your God?" believers can answer, "Our God is in the heavens." God’s people lift their eyes to Him, just as Jesus taught us to pray to our Father in heaven. We look to God for help, guidance, and mercy, just like servants watch their master’s hand for direction, help, and reward. Even when God corrects us, we wait for His mercy, knowing He is our true protector and provider.v. 1–2: The psalmist says, Unto thee lift I up mine eyes, O thou that dwellest in the heavens. Behold, as the eyes of servants look unto the hand of their masters, and as the eyes of a maiden unto the hand of her mistress; so our eyes wait upon the Lord
